Hearing in the case involving the founder of sotitobire church, prophet Alfa Babatunde will now hold at Ondo state High court tomorrow, Thursday, February 6th, 2020.
The case did not hold at the magistrate’s court in Akure today, following his failure to appear with his co-defendant and counsel to both parties.
Alfa Babatunde is standing trial over the disappearance of a year old boy, Gold Kolawole who got missing in his church in November last year.
The case was slated for hearing today by chief magistrate Charity Adeyanju after the director of public prosecution, Grace Olowoporoku hinted the court at the last sitting, of an application to transfer the case to the high court.
Counsel to Prophet Babatunde, Olusola Oke said the case had been formally transferred to the high court which informed why it did not come up today as scheduled.
He said the case will begin afresh at the high court in Akure and assured that his client will be in court to defend himself.
The court was jampacked by members of the Sotitobire church while security was also beefed up in anticipation of the trial.
While some left immediately, many others still stayed even after they got the news that hearing would no longer take place today.
